Rental Assistance and Legal Help Is Available
From the COVID Eviction Legal Help Project: Due to recent changes to the law, we wanted to reach out to make sure you have up-to-date information about tenants’ legal rights and available resources. On August 3, the U.S. Centers for Disease for Control extended the federal eviction moratorium. It will cover many, but not all tenants. You can find more information about the moratorium at bit.ly/COVIDEvictionMoratorium.
Many tenants facing housing insecurity do not know how to get rental assistance and free legal aid. As we face another surge of COVID cases, we must ensure that tenants are getting the help they need to stabilize their housing.
We are urging tenants facing eviction not to move out and to seek rental assistance and legal aid.
